GAIF objective is support and develop the Arab Insurance Industry; represent it at the international level, and strengthen all forms of cooperation among Insurance Companies through Reinsurance, serve the interests of the members, the National Economy, as well as Supervisory Authorities and local Insurance Associations.

For this purpose, GAIF commits the following activities:

  • Establishing the Unified Orange Card System (which became digital in 2023) to enable vehicles to travel across Arab countries through third-party motor liability insurance coverage.

  • Organizing bi-annual General Conference, seminars, and participating in Arab insurance events and activities.

  • Launching the "Natural Catastrophes: For an Arab Insurance Initiative in " in 2022.

  • Publishing the "Arab Insurance Magazine", quarterly focusing on insurance affairs and market reports, as well as a weekly electronic newsletter covering global and Arab insurance market.

  • Publishing the "Arab Insurance Directory AID" (hard and digital versions), which includes companies’ financial statements and statistical data on Arab countries, and published on the GAIF website.

  • Issuing, in cooperation with Shielders Actuarial Company, the "Arab Insurance Statistics Book 2017–2023", which provides insurance market statistics and growth forecasts for Arab markets with a horizon extending to 2030.

  • Establishing specialized technical Leagues to build broad professional networks and facilitate connections with companies seeking such expertise, such as the " Arab Actuaries League"

  • Encouraging insurance education initiatives and promoting insurance awareness and culture.
